Grace Maddux King, age 90 died August 18, 2011. Grace is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hows King, her parents Grace and Frank Grady Maddux and brothers Frank, Edward and Richard Maddux. She graduated from East High School, class of 1938. Grace was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and faithful friend to many. She is survived by her daughters Laree (Steve) Bobo of Chicago, and Kristie (Jamie)Sochovka of Nashville; son Robert Hows (Lora)King, Jr. of Atlanta; grandchildren Sara and Julia Bobo of Chicago, Jon, Allison, and Emily Sochovka, of Nashville, Clayton, Shelby, and Jackson King of Atlanta, and sister Jane (Jimmy) Garrett. Grace was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church, The Woman’s Club of Nashville, The Friends of Cumberland Heights, The Hillwood Garden Club, the Fun Bunch and Lunch Bunch groups and various other charity organizations. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Woodcrest Health Center for their wonderful and tender care of Grace. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 222 Belle Meade Blvd., conducted by Pastor Steven Meriwether. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 and one hour prior to the service at Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment to immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
