Georgia B. Russell

It is with much sadness in our hearts that our beautiful Mama, Georgia B. Russell, left her earthly home and entered the Kingdom of Heaven. She is finally resting in peace with her parents, George and Mattie Cargile; son-in-law, Bobby Meeks; and siblings that have gone on before her.

Our Mom was 88 years old and her life was characterized by hard work, and enjoying her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. Her love for her family could not be measured. We will miss her free-spirit, her laughter, and her beautiful smile. Our Mom was a self-taught sculptor and artist. We know she, now, has the perfect canvas with which to work.

Our Mom is survived by four children, Dennis (Suzanne) Kirby, Carolyn Meeks, Robert (Kay) Russell, and Tommy (Brenda) Russell; eleven grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home from 10am until 2pm. A Celebration of Life will begin in the chapel at 2pm with Pastor Jim Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jason Kirby, Jeremiah Russell, Joshua Russell, Marshall Russell, Nicholas Russell, Robert Meeks, and Talijah Russell.
