He was born August 11, 1960, in Havana, Cuba, the son of the late Dr. Martin and Juana Hernandez Giner. George was a member of Holy Rosary Academy and Church. He graduated from Father Ryan High School, Middle Tennessee State University, and University of Tennessee where he followed his father and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Later on in life at the age of 42, he joined the United States Navy and became a Lieutenant Commander. He wanted to give something back to the United States for giving him and his family the right to be free and not be under the dictatorship of Fidel Castro.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
George is survived by his loving wife, Penny Giner; one brother, Martin Giner and his wife, Amanda, and a best friend, Ricky Jackson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2016, from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church located at 192 Graylynn Drive, Nashville, Tennessee, with Father Mark Hunt officiating.
Interment and military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
