Gene was born in Collinwood, TN on July 29, 1935. He is survived by his wife, Willa Dean Crowder Martin of 60 plus years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Maude Ayers Martin, Stepmother, Bertha Lee Martin, Sister, Joyce Martin Calton, brother, William Martin, and Step brother, Harold Lee, brother-in-law, Herbert Reasonover. He is survived by sister-in-law Earlene Reasonover. Nephews, Darrell Reasonover (Susie), Ronald Reasonover (Ginger), Nieces, Rita Wood, Vickie Singley, Lisa Jones (George). Krista Marks, Lagina Etheridge (Jack), Carol Holladay (Steve).
Gene retired from CSX Railroad after 32 years. He loved fishing, Nascar racing and Alabama football.
Gene loved his country and served in the US Army two terms.
Gene was a member of Water Street Church of Christ for over 25 years.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and Thursday January 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be January 23, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Brother Thomas Southerland officiating. Following will be internment at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Bob Thomas, Joe Riley, Robert Hayes, Triton Adams, Chris Hayes and Willie Speight serving as Pallbearers, Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons and Elders of Water Street Church of Christ.
