Frederick William Sparling, age 96, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Tuesday, November 28th. Fred was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on July 5th, 1921. He was the son of the late Fred Edward and Helen Thorpe Sparling. He was predeceased by his sister, Caroline L. Manos and his son, Robert Wayne.
He is survived by his wife Rita Joan Drexler Sparling of 76 years, son Fred Jr., grandson Fred 3rd, granddaughter Susan Church, great-grandsons, Bennitt, Connor and Sparling and great-granddaughter Savannah Church.
Fred was a past member of the Armed Forces serving in World War 2 with Patton's Army. Fred was a retired Bayonne Fire Captain.
A private family ceremony will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey with Father James Manos officiating.
