Frances Blackmon Welch, age 78, of Nashville, passed away November 6, under hospice care. Born Feb. 20, 1933 in Columbus, GA to Mary Frances Conner and L. Dean Blackmon of Eufaula, Al. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Philip T. Welch, Jr. Her children are: Gay (Joe) Rushing, Philip T. (Denise) Welch, III, Deanna Sellers, and Lu Welch; sister, Celia (Bobby) Taylor of Eufaula; grandchildren, Heather, Lindsay, & Jarrett (Jennifer) Sellers, Philip T. IV and Lesley Welch, Daniel (Keri Beth), Shelby and Andrew Rushing; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11:30 the morning of Friday at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with Joe Rushing, Tim Frizzell, and Dan Gilbert officiating. Mrs. Welch attended Huntington College in Montgomery. Upon moving to Nashville, she became active in the Crieve Hall Church of Christ where she taught in the Bible School, participated in visitation, and Ladies Bible Class. She was a Christian who stood by her husband and took special interest in her family. She enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, her Bridge and Garden Club in her home. An excellent cook and interior decorator, she kept home improvement projects going indoors and out. Memorials may be made to Crieve Hall Church of Christ or charity of one's choice.
