Evelyn Stringfellow Lunsford

LUNSFORD, Evelyn Frances Stringfellow entered eternity peacefully on May 23, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Steven (Caroline Beavers) Lunsford, Margie Lunsford Lusky, and Nancy (Ray) Rose; six grandchildren, Kristie Gilliam of Spartanburg, SC, Kim Lusky of Spring Hill, TN, July Hall of Brentwood, TN, David Lusky of Spring Hill, Chip Rose of Pulaski, TN and Jacob Rose of Pulaski. Mrs. Lunsford is further survived by nine great grandchildren. Evelyn was a native Nashvillian, graduating from Cohn High School in 1939. She was preceeded in death by her parents, William Thomas Stringfellow and Nellie Miles Stringfellow; brothers, Billy Fields Stringfellow and Thomas Carter Stringfellow; and sister, Mildred Stringfellow Weimar. Evelyn was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother all of her life. She delighted in welcoming all to her home and treated everyone with genuine warmth and kindness. Her affection for her family and friends was deep and unfailing, and she touched many lives as the love of Christ was shown through her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life service will be held today at Woodlawn's Dignity Hall at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Perry Muse officiating. Interment to follow. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. up until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s honor to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
