Mrs. Eva Jane Brown Palmer passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday evening. She was surrounded by family at her home in West Nashville. Eva has joined her husband of over 60 years, William Henry Palmer. She is also preceded in death by mother Florence May Tomerlin Brown, father Gaius Van William Brown, and nine brothers and sisters; Survived by children Carol Lain (Tony), Mickey Palmer (Shari), Terry Palmer (Barbara), sisters Gertrude Brown Palmer and Theresa Brown Price (Cecil), eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Eva was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her resilient spirit and love for life shined God’s light into the lives of many family, friends, and strangers. Eva was a long time resident of West Nashville and active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Her greatest joys included connecting with loved ones, her daily phone ministry with family and friends, and in her later years the support from her new friends at St. Luke’s Community House.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at one o'clock in the afternoon at the Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Historic Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from eleven o'clock in the morning until the hour of the service at Mount Olivet. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to organizations dear to her heart: St. Luke’s Community House or St. John’s United Methodist Church.
