SMITH, Ernest Nelson Age 86 of Madison passed away February 29, 2012. Preceded in death by wife of 35 years, Betty Jean Smith. Survived by daughter, Sharon Gail Smith; sons, Eric N. Smith, Alan D. (Brenda) Smith & Mark W. (Mary) Smith; brothers, Orville & James Smith; grandchildren, Presley Smith, William Smith, Brian Smith, Jacob Smith, Lydia Hayes & Caleb Hayes. Nelson was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather & friend. He survived in the Marine Corp. during WW II. A member of the American Legion Post # 5 for 65 years & a Mason at Lodge # 560. He retired from the Tennessean after 42 years. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012 at Eastland Chapel with Leslie Chapman officiating. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be today 5 – 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Sunday 1 – 8 p.m. & 1 hour prior to the service Monday.Arrangements under the direction of Eastland Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Nashville, TN.
