Eric was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to AJ and Irene Johnson on December 12, 1955. The family moved to Nashville, TN in 1966. Eric went on to attend Father Ryan High School, the beginning of many lifelong friendships. He married the love of his life, Julie Burton Johnson on October, 26, 2001.
Eric possessed so many talents and interests, which included writing music, playing golf, and selling and developing real estate. He and Julie established Your Move Real Estate in 2007, where he continued his highly successful real estate career.
Eric was a member of NSAI and was involved in Nashville’s music community.
Eric’s passion to help people was a natural part of his professional and personal life. He was a member of Crosspoint Community Church and gave freely of his time by volunteering at Preston Taylor Ministries, and generously supporting it and so many other community-oriented programs – all in the spirit of giving of his most precious commodity – his time.
Eric is preceded in death by his parents, AJ and Irene Johnson and brother, Lance Johnson.
Eric is survived by his wife, Julie Johnson, brother Kirk Johnson(Susan Ney), sister and brother-in-law Jeanne Burton and Tony Herrera, nephew Paul Johnson (Caitlin Bruce), nieces Laura Johnson and Stephanie Johnson Naccarato (Joey); great-nephews and nieces (Aidan Johnson, August Jean Johnson, and JR Naccarato).
A service to honor and celebrate Eric’s life and the ways he touched so many will be announced at a later date. In the interim, please consider donating to Preston Taylor Ministries Breakfast and Bible Study Program (prestontaylorministries.org) where Eric was a volunteer, mentor and donor, and to Discovery Place in Burns TN (discoveryplace.info), of which Eric was the first client to complete the program when it opened its doors in 1997. Eric showed his support of Discovery Place as a financial supporter and Board Member.
Eric’s family wishes to thank all of those who have been so supportive during these last few months – simply too many to list by name – but you know who you are. Eric loved each of you, and was so grateful for your love and prayers and support, as is Julie. While we are all devastated by Eric’s passing, we are assured he is with his Creator, and we know our lives are so much richer by having known and loved Eric. His kindness, giving spirit, and boundless ability to love everyone just as they were, are but a few ways he made us all better.
Remember, EVERYBODY DESERVES LOVE!
