Elsie Raye Robinson Overton

Elsie Raye Robinson Overton, 83, passed from this life on April 20, 2010, age 83. Born February 27, 1927, in Gladeville, Tennessee, Mrs. Overton grew up in Wilson County. She is the daughter of the late Samuel Wilson and Angie Bell Drennon Robinson. She and her late husband, Dr. William Austin Overton, were married for 57 years.

Mrs. Overton graduated from Lebanon High School. She was a homemaker and mother all of her married life. She was also a docent at the historic Travellers Rest, home of Judge John Overton. She and her late husband were founding members of the Brentwood Hills Church of Christ.

She is survived by her four daughters, Sherry Stinson (Steve), Ann Dickinson (John), Carol Bomar (Joe) and Jane Buselmeier (Ted); eight grandchildren, Nathaniel Stinson, Amy Dickinson Burrow, Carrie Johnson, Ben Buselmeier, Austin Johnson, Stephanie Stinson, Billy Buselmeier and Angie Johnson; and three great grandsons, Overton Stinson, Noah Stinson and Elliot Johnson; sisters, Mary Swain and Martha Evans of Lebanon, TN.

Funeral services will be 2:30 Friday, April 23, 2010 in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall with burial following in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Her pallbearers will be her grandsons and her sons in law. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
