On January 23, 1925, Edward Levy Jones was the first of three boys born to Lula & William Jones, of Bakers Station, Tennessee. Edward attended school and worked the family farm in Bakers Station. At the age of 18, he began working for L&N Railroad, and did so for forty-four years. Edward soon married Cypha Bell Shannon to which Sarah and Edward, Jr. were born before her passing. Edward later met, and married, Pearl Jones and the family increased with the addition of Jinnell, Jerry, Eugene, Bert, and Carol. Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren were added to this remarkable family over “Mr. Ed’s” lifetime.
Greeting Edward are his wives, brother Robert, daughters Jinnell and Sarah “Chicken”, and granddaughter, Teresa. He leaves, to mourn, his son Edward L. (Barbara) Jones, Jr., Jerry (Mildred) Cantrell, Eugene (Barbara) Watkins, Jr., Minister Bert (Edwina) Watkins, Minister Carol J. Nicholas, uncle Thomas (Marie) Jones of Gary, IN, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of cousins, friends, and wonderful neighbors.
