Edna Self Jenkins

Edna Self Jenkins, age 100, of Nashville, TN died on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her son’s home. Mrs. Jenkins was born on December 26, 1913 in Logan County, KY. Mrs. Jenkins is preceded in death by her husband, Joe L. Jenkins, a long-time member of the Nashville Bar Association; brothers, Raymond, Richard and Joe Self. She is survived by son, Robert “Bobby” Jenkins (Marianne); grandchildren, Robin Richardson (David Hammock), Ginger Richardson (Keith Palmer), Robert and Guadelupe Jenkins and Barbara Jenkins; great grandchildren, Brock, Heath, Reece, Leah, Gavin and Makenna. Mrs. Jenkins retired from Fidelity Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1975 after serving 24 years. She was a charter member of the Harsh Chapel Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 30 years. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of First Baptist Church of Donelson at time of death. She was a member of The Woman’s Club of Nashville. Past member of Pilot Club of Nashville and New Century Club. Visitation will begin at one thirty in the afternoon on Sunday, the 7th of September, 2014 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at two thirty in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Pastor Jeff Fryer, former pastor of Brentwood Methodist Church, and personal friend of the family will be officiating the service. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
