Douglas Martin Baltz, Jr., 72, of Nashville, TN, passed away Sunday, August 26. He was born in May 5, 1946. He attended Holy Rosary Academy and graduated from Father Ryan High School in 1964. After classes at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and St. Bernard College in Cullman, AL, he served in the Navy from 1966 to 1972. He worked at Kentucky Sausage in both Owensboro and Lexington, KY and then at Baltz Brothers Packing Company in Nashville, TN until 1992. He was employed at Purity Dairies, in Nashville until his retirement in May, 2018.
He was preceded, in death, by his parents, Douglas M. Baltz, Sr, and Reba Gallaher Baltz, sister, Theresa Baltz Petty. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Rebecca Harvey Baltz, and his son, Douglas Martin Baltz, III (Chaleeya); daughters, Heidi Kay Baltz, Brandy Baltz Hall (Matt); & Charlotte Holland Baltz; grandaughter Carmen Jindamanee Baltz, brothers, Richard P. Baltz, Wayne Matthew Baltz; sisters, Coleen Baltz Hanley (Richard); Sheila Baltz Quirk (Jack); Phyllis Baltz McGee (Patrick); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home, from 4 - 8 pm Wednesday, August 29, 429 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN. The family will also receive visitors from 10 - 11 am, at Church of the Holy Rosary with the funeral mass to be held at 11:00, 192 Graylynn Drive, Nashville, TN, 37214.
