Dorothy L. Wells - Age 74 of Nashville, passed away February 27, 2015. Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Willie Skinner and Samuel K Wells her devoted and loving husband of 42 years; sisters, Daisy Smithson and Vianna Roberts; brothers, Thomas and Lundy Skinner. Survived by; brothers, John (Mary Jane) Skinner, Fred (Barbara) Skinner; daughters, LaWanda Haywood and Beverly (Bill) Beavers; sons, Frankie (Cheri) Shank and Eddie (Teresa) Shank; grand-children, Amanda (Matthew) Scott, Brandy Shank, Chelsea Beavers, Rebecca Williams and Christopher (Tawnna) Beavers; great grand-children; Elijah Roberts, Elizabeth and Evalyn Smith. Mrs Wells was a long time member of Shelby Ave Baptist Church. She was a long time employee of Commerce Union Bank and owner and operator of The Daily Grind Coffee Shop in downtown Nashville. She loved to shop, especially at Ladies of Charity, travel when she could and always loved spending time with her family and friends. The family wishes to thank family and friends for their love, prayers and support during her time of illness. Special thanks to Vicki Ballew (Niece) and the staff at Alive Hospice of Nashville for all their love, care and support.
Gold Circle Sunday School Class, Central High School Class of 1959 Columbia TN will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday, March 2, 2015 at two thirty in the afternoon, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Jack Galloway officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum.
Gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday from four o’clock until eight o’clock at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and on Monday from twelve Noon until the service at two thirty at Woodlawn.
