Dorothy is predeceased by husband, Neil Hargrove; her daughter, Dorothy Lee Hargrove Hempstead; parents, William Hubert Colley and Mary Agnes Geist Colley; sisters, Margaret Colley Baltz, Elizabeth Colley Wakefield, Bertha Colley Wheaton; brothers, William Hubert Colley II, Patrick Augustine Colley, Seth Gregory Colley.
Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her children, Tom Hargrove (Marilyn)] of Readyville, TN, Michael Hargrove (Karen) of Murfreesboro, TN, Christopher Hargrove (Sharon) of McMinnville, TN, Teri Hargrove Edwards (Ronnie) of Omaha, NE; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Colley SL, Agnes Wheaton; brother, John Colley and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born in El Paso, Texas on September 3, 1924. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School, Nashville, TN in 1942 and went on to earn an associates degree from Watkins School of Business. She was a homemaker and also joined her husband, Neil, in ownership and operation of the home office of Hargrove Office Supply in McMinnville for 67 years.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling, doing handcrafts and spending time with her family. She was a founding member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in McMinnville, TN.
The visitation will be held at Mt. Olivet Funeral Home, 1101 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37210 on Thursday, April 19th from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, 2015 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 with Reverend Edward Steiner officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery,1101 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN. A reception will take place at Mount Olivet Funeral Home Event Room immediately following committal service.
