Doris Marie Weiland Norris Davis

Doris Marie Weiland Norris Davis 84, died June 13, 2016. Predeceased by Father, Roy Weiland and Mother , Audry Marie Patton Weiland, husband, Rev. James Lee Davis, daughter, Karen Marie Norris Glover, four brothers, Roy Godfrey Weiland, Richard Melvin Weiland, Raymond Leonard Weiland and Robert Herbert Weiland. Mrs. Davis was born in Nashville, TN on October 14, 1931. She graduated from Antioch High School in 1949 and attended George Peabody College for Teachers in the early 1950’s. Mrs. Davis majored in Elementary Education. She taught school at Deer Park Baptist Academy in Charleston, S.C. She retired from Lifeway Christian Resources after 20 years of service as an office coordinator in student ministries. In 1994, Mrs. Davis resumed her teaching career for Metro Nashville School system. Mrs. Davis was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Antioch, TN. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and friend to many. Spending time with family was her special interest. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts and she really loved dancing. She nourished individuals around her with love, faith and music. Mrs. Davis is survived by four children; Gary Tilmon (wife Marie) Norris, George Wayne Norris, Rhonda Faye Norris Towne and Roy Allen Norris; Also survived by 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Visitation will be from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening Thursday June 16, 2016 and from Ten O’clock in the morning until One O’clock in the afternoon Friday June 17, 2016. Funeral services will be 1 o’clock Friday at Dignity Hall at Woodlawn- Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
