Donald “Buddy” Smith, age 77, went home to be with his lord on Monday, April 27, 2015. Buddy was born in Nashville, TN to the late Edwin and Ruby Smith. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Smith; sisters, Joyce Kamm and Janeil Westbrook. Buddy was a doorman who served faithfully for years at Inglewood Baptist Church, lovingly greeting every person who entered the house of the Lord. Buddy was also an avid fan and supporter of all Vanderbilt Athletics. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Bradley (Randy) and Janeil Harris (Randall); son, Donnie Smith (Michelle); chosen child, Scott Harris (Betsy); four grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Randall Smith (Linda). Visitation will be held at four o’ clock in the afternoon until eight on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held at ten o’ clock in the morning until eleven with service to follow at eleven at Inglewood Baptist Church (3901 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216) on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Interment will take place following the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Scott Bradley, Chris Riley, Wayne Camp, Scott Harris, Randy Bradley and Joe Vido. Honorary Pallbearers are Logan Blancett and The Dudley Miller Sunday School Class. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Tennessee Donor Services or Inglewood Baptist Church.
