

Dolores Callis Linville, age 97, passed away peacefully on Jan 22, 2017. Dolores was a lifelong resident of Nashville, and was married for sixty years to Charles Edgar Linville, Jr. Dolores was an avid gardener, especially fond of her roses. She spent many hours quilting, a member of the Music City Quilter's Guild. She loved to paint, creating beautiful watercolors that now adorn the houses of her children and grandchildren. Dolores was at her happiest traveling with her beloved Charlie, or spending time with friends and family. She was always cooking and baking, having a treat on hand for whoever dropped by. Most of all Dolores loved her family, taking every opportunity she could to gather everyone together, be it for Sunday dinner after church or an elaborate Thanksgiving meal. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edgar Linville, Jr.; son, Robin Linville; brother, George Callis; and sister, Jean Rigler. She is survived by her sons, Chuck (Jo) Linville, and Mark (Gayle) Linville; daughter-in-law, Margaret Linville; grandchildren, Karen (David) Evans, Kimberly (Johnny) Brew, Chip (Christi) Linville, Chris Linville, Randy Linville, Cindy (Jimmie) Wise, David (Sherri) Linville, and Laura (Michael) Broome; and many great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home on Donelson Pike at 1 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017, with the Reverend Regina Hall officiating. Interment will be held at Springhill Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 5 pm to 8 pm, and Saturday from 12 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donelson Heights United Methodist Church.
