DAHL, Dennis LeRoy, age 62, from Franklin, TN. Sadly passed of a fatal heart attack Saturday, February 9, 2013, while enjoying a beautiful day foxhunting with family and friends in Cornersville, TN. Preceded in death by parents Marcel Roy Dahl and Ruby Elaine Grundstrom Dahl and brothers Bruce, Wallace, James and Chester Dahl. Survived by brother David (Laurie) Dahl from Plymouth, MN and sisters-in-law Carolyn from Minneapolis, Carolyn from Denver, Sherry from Phoenix, and Mary Dahl from Kennedy, MN and many nieces and nephews. Born September 27, 1950 in Drayton, North Dakota he graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. Dennis found his way to Nashville through his work as President of Martha White Foods and later became CEO of Dixie Lily Foods. He was presently with Magnolia Brokers of Nashville. Raised in a large Swedish family, Dennis was one of six boys growing up in Minnesota. Somehow he always found a way to be outdoors, whether it was as linebacker from his college football team or running marathons in Ireland, Sweden, New York or LA. He was a road biker, enjoyed tennis and golf and more recently his new found love of foxhunting, which he shared with his wife and children. Dennis definitely lived his life to the fullest and made friends wherever he traveled. Survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Robin Hicks Porter Dahl, son Gustav Carlisle Dahl and step children McClain Porter and Rachael Porter , and also his first marriage to Magdelene Mary Kester Boldt Dahl Mulcahy (Pat), children Chad Boldt (Laura) and Lauren Molly Dahl. Funeral service will be held three-thirty Wednesday afternoon , February 13, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, 143 Fifth Ave. S., Franklin, TN conducted by Sr. Pastor Lynn Hill, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pallbearers Gustav Dahl, McClain Porter, Chad Boldt, George Hicks, John Thetford, Sr., Bill Haggard, Bill Andrews, and Johnny Gray. The family will receive visitors at their farm following the service.
