Rev. Heath, father of 5 is survived by four children: Kenneth (Andra) Heath of Locust Grove GA, Robin (Vicki) Heath of Edisto Beach, SC., Kathy “Pearl” Brick of Eureka Springs, AR., Timothy (Kaylyn) Heath of Brush Creek Tn, and Ulka Wilson (shooting star) of Houston, TX. He leaves 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by His wife of 70 years, Luella Faye Mishler Heath, and one daughter, Susan McCarter.
Mr. Daryl (in deference to Mama Lou) was raised in southeast MO and carved an amazing life that led him to marry a Kansas girl, move to California for school and church planting, and then back across the continent for a 20-year ministry with the Baptist Sunday School Board (now LifeWay Ministries). Married for more than 70 years to Luella Faye Mishler of Weir, Kansas, Rev. Heath and his bride influenced literally thousands through their long years of ministry from the once and current ‘mission field’ of California to a broad ministry to churches, leaders, and teachers all across the Southern Baptist Convention. Rev. Heath and Lou shared an affection for the local church and anything that made families stronger. They were equally at home with captains of industry and the homeless and helpless. As a strategist and consultant, Rev. Heath assisted churches and church leaders in growing strong churches and vibrant ministries.
In retirement, Rev Heath dabbled in the automobile industry providing counsel and automotive retail therapy for friends and family alike. Rev. Heath will be remembered for his consistent faith, fatherly wisdom, and cheerful acceptance of being the husband of Mama Lou.
