He was born January 18, 1949 in Nashville, TN, a son to Bob and Nell (Bradley) Lee. Dan showed great responsibility and personal drive early in life, having a paper route for many years, graduating high school early, and earning his degree from David Lipscomb University before being drafted into the Vietnam War.
Dan met the love of his life Janice (Dorris) in Nashville, TN and they married in 1976. He now gets to join her in Paradise, she having passed in 2018. Dan's spirit will continue to be reflected in his daughter, Adrienne (Ben) Lee-Gass of Brentwood, TN, son Logan (Loribeth) Lee of Chattanooga, TN, daughter Eleanor (Jeremy) Paisley of Franklin, TN, and daughter Olivia Lee of Brentwood, TN. The lights of his life were his sweet granddaughters and biggest buddies, Rosalind Lee-Gass and Evelyn and Abigail Paisley. He also leaves behind his brother Bobby (Mary) Lee, sister Nelda (Russ) Sturgeon, nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
Dan had a great love of history, military artifacts, reading, genealogy, walking three and a half miles every morning, and spending time with his family. His sensible, sought-after advice, good-natured personality, extreme patience, and kindness to all will be remembered and always cherished by those who knew him. Dan saw every day as a blessing, and his geniality and optimism lasted until his time on earth came to a close.
A family graveside service will be held to honor the life of Daniel Eugene Lee.
