Dearest Crawford & Family,

I struggle to write this as I’m still in disbelief and can only imagine what y’all are going through. What I would give for one more hug, one more convo, one more text…

While “Craw Daddy” was the name given, friend is what stuck and will be remembered. Meeting you on a beach, you shone brighter than the sun as besides the polite “hi” and handshake, our first real conversation was away from the crowd. We joked because groups drain me and I needed to get away to collect myself for a minute, recharge as I do so much better when comfortable around people I know, where I can just be me…you laughed and said that’s exactly why you stepped away. Yet with you it was so effortless, your contagious smile and demeanor so easy to be around and you were loved instantly. I remember leaving that weekend and saying goodbye as you stopped me “JJ, you are just a whole vibe and someone I really want to get to know…can we please stay in touch?” Flabbergasted I said of course and was just so curious as I am not cool, I’m not special, and I’m not even in sales! What could I possibly offer this southern gent?!

Kept in touch we did as our texts and instagrams went back and forth as once I found out cattle and the rodeo was in your family, I knew I had a buddy! You were one of the only people I could chat about the calves being born, show our bucking bulls off to who also understood “tech life.” We cheered each other on in running as I was so proud and impressed with your marathon times (meanwhile I never ran mine). Our worlds almost collided in Tahoe as I was there for a wedding and you for work right before Saastr but you were South Lake and I was up North.  I was looking forward to when we’d meet again and still am as it just won’t be on this earth.

Thank you for your kindness, your encouragement, just being the you everyone adored and lit up any room. I love you and hope you’re resting easy and in peace. Many condolences and hugs to the family.

I was very sorry to see that your son, Crawford passed away. He was a very handsome young ma. Unfortunately, I had never met him. Reading the comments that other people posted, he sounded like a very special and personable person.

I am simply grateful for the short time we had together. No matter if kayaking on Lake Tahoe, introducing Crawford to some German food or partying with Arty the Party - I enjoyed every single second. His smile, his humor and his big heart - I will miss him so much!

Crawford was one of those rare people you meet in this world. Whether meeting you for the first time, or spending hours upon hours with you on Thursday nights, he moved through life taking such care in his relationships with people.

Fond memories of you my friend. A fantastic human that will be sorely missed.

Crawford, I will miss you. Your smile was contagious. You listened with your whole self. You made a difference. To me and to our TNS community. I'm grateful I got to know you. If only for a little while. Rest in peace. And I'm sending you a great big hug!

Crawford and I were not close friends, but for the 10 minutes we spoke 1 to 1 on a beach in Florida, he made me feel like we were lifelong friends. He brought pure energy, joy, happiness and kindness to those 10 minutes. And I know everyone at that event felt the same energy. 

I'm sending back as much of that special energy he bestowed on me back to Crawford's nearest and dearest at this time... ❤️

It may sound cliche, but words truly can't express your impact on everyone's life that you touched. If you had the pleasure of experiencing Crawford's magic, only then you would know. 

When you entered a room, the doors swung open. When you opened your mouth, people listened. When your face beamed with a smile, positivity was contagious. 

You have left me reeling for unrealized future memories but also feeling grateful for the ones we created. Hiring you was the best professional decision I've ever made and taking your spirit with me wherever my life takes me is the best personal decision I will make. 

I thought I was heartbroken for losing you, but upon reflection, my heart has never been more full. And if it ever bleeds, it will run Crimson Tide. Roll tide roll my dear friend and rest peacefully.

Crawford (“Crawdaddy” as we lovingly called you), you were an absolute light and I feel so honored to have known you for the time that I did. I remember snapping this picture when were all in Destin for the TNS conference because you were so happy, content, and just soaking in the moment! Thank you for the many laughs and positive energy you brought to those around you. You will be missed greatly. 

Crawford really made an impression on me from the first time we met. Immediately I felt welcomed by a warm, kind, empathetic, and funny (!) human.  My heart is heavy. Sending so much love and support to his family and friends.  

I was a lucky gal to know Crawford AKA "Crawdaddy."

I will never forget how he came into my life via the TNS community and how he dropped everything to sign up for the Florida event... even if that meant putting the marathon he was training for on hold.

He just showed up.
He loved.
He helped.
He gave.
He inspired.

And we are all better for it.

I still have the handwritten card he gave me during this event where our picture was taken.  I will treasure it forever and it will serve as a constant reminder to be more like Crawford.

All he had to do was walk into a room, or in my case, a beach in Florida or an exhibit area at SaaStr, and it would light up and immediately get better because he was part of it.

Oh, and he gave great hugs too.

I will carry him in my heart and I'm just so so so sorry that he is not with us.

I'm sending peace and love to his family, friends, and team.  Words don't sum up how sorry I am.

He will be missed and my oh my what an indelible impression he made in those 30 years.

Crawford, or as our group lovingly called him, Crawdaddy, was a true light. He knew how to make an entrance and a lasting impression. One of those kid souls that warms your heart every time you see him. So lucky to have met him and shared countless laughs. We met through a business context and he had endless value to give. But the best was his joy. I'm so happy I got to know him. 

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Crawford. To say that he is salt of the earth is an understatement. His smile, joy, humor and spirit brightened up a room. He truly made the world a better place. 

My prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult and painful time. May God bring you comfort and peace.  Please accept my sincere condolences.
