Clyde William Pennington, 95, departed this life on August 31, 2021. He was born on May 21, 1926 in Rome, Smith County, Tennessee, to the late George H. Pennington and Myrtle E. Stonecipher Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Goldie Frances Pennington.
He has two children – Teresa (Ken) Stephens and Michael (Yvette) Pennington. He has 5 grandchildren – Rachel Pennington, Lily Pennington, Matthew Stephens, Mark (Kristie) Stephens and Derek Stephens. He has two great grandchildren, Colin Pennington and Luke Stephens.
Clyde was loved by everyone he met and was always joking around. He had a “green thumb” and loved to grown beautiful gardens and share the fruits of his crops with others. He also loved flowers and his patio was always covered in beautiful plants. Gospel and bluegrass music were his favorites and he loved to watch the RFD television channel. Clyde was a WWII veteran and he served his country with pride. He loved his country and was very patriotic. There was always a flag flying at his house. He is so loved by his family and others and he will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two-thirty in the afternoon on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, with Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
