Clarence Herbert Edwards, age 84, passed on December 26, 2016. My Dad was a unique individual. Gifted and talented in repair of most anything. An open heart to share these gifts with friends and family, a kind and loving Dad. Like most Dads, he loved me dearly and adored his grandchildren Colton and Lindsay and delighted with his recent great grandchildren Lexie and Millie Maugans. My Dad was gracious, kind, and certainly had his opinions. He was born in Rutherford County. Later went to work with the City of Nashville, now Metropolitan Government. He worked with Traffic and Parking and retired in 1987. The men he worked with installed and repaired traffic lights during a time when, for example Old Hickory Blvd. at Franklin Road had a blinking light. Then, operated a Lawn Care service. My Dad was a believer in Christ Jesus. Like all of us, grace, mercy, and forgiveness through Christ was his hope for eternal life. He was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and W.R. Edwards, seven (7) brothers and two (2) sisters. Clarence family includes Susan and Nathan Cline, Colton and Kimber Cline, Lindsay and Jon Maugans, Lexie Maugans, and Millie Maugans, former wife Frances Edwards and nieces and nephews from the Edwards and Harding families. Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from eleven o’clock until the service time at one o’clock, which will be held in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Ken Carver, Stan Carver, Tim O’Brien, Vincent O’Brien, Colton Cline, Jon Maugans, Nathan Cline and Rich Smith. Preferable to flowers, please consider a donation to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. A special note of personal appreciation to the ‘Angels’ at the NHC Place Cool Springs facility for loving and caring for my Dad for almost a year.
