Charlotte Bernice Akin

Charlotte was the oldest daughter of nine children of Claude C. & Nell Richbourg. She married James F. Akin, Jr. right before turning 16. She worked from 1957 until her retirement as a retail clerk. Charlotte and Jim attended River Road Church of Christ as well as Bellevue Church of Christ and West Nashville Heights Church of Christ.

She was a homemaker and full-time mother until going to work outside the home in 1957.She did anything and everything to help her family. She was a outstanding wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who entered her life.

Charlotte was married for 73 years to James F. Akin, Jr. who precedes her death. Charlotte is survived by three siblings: Connie Richbourg, David Lee Richbourg and Joe Richbourg and their spouses. James and Charlotte are survived by their two children, James C. Akin, Sr. and Penny M. Forney and their spouses. Their four grandchildren: James C. Akin, Jr., Kelly M. Forney, Jeff Akin, and Roy C. Forney III, and their 4 great-children.

Charlotte Akin's Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM River Road Church of Christ on Monday June 28th. RR Church is located at 7407 Old Charlotte Pike, Nashville
