Charles Allen Cass, age 82, departed this life on April 13, 2020 in Roswell, Georgia. Charles was born on October 8, 1937 to the late John & Agnes Moore Cass in Nashville, Tennessee. Charles was a 1955 graduate of Cumberland High School. After high school he attended the University of Tennessee Memphis, where he graduated in 1959 as a Doctor of Pharmacy.
After graduation he returned to Nashville to work at Vanderbilt University Hospital as a Pharmacist. Dr. Cass eventfully took a position as the Director of Pharmacy at Clover Bottom Developmental Center, where he remained till his retirement in 2010, when the facility closed. After retirement, Dr. Cass and his wife, Lanora moved to Woodstock, Georgia, to be near their families. Charles will always be remembered for his small tokens of affection and his youthful spirit.
Dr.Cass is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lanora Cass of Woodstock, GA; his son, Charles (Angela) Yancey Cass, and grandsons, Evan and Ryan of Decatur, GA; daughter, Dawn Camille Cass and her fiancé, Robert Reddy of Jacksonville, FL; his step-daughter, Beth (Joe) Janeway and grandson, Jonathan Janeway of Milton, Georgia; brother, Robert (Avalene) Cass of Hermitage, TN; nieces, Laura Cass (Alton) George of Portland, TN and Connie Cass (Jim) O'Connell and their sons, Robert and William of Alexandria, VA; first cousin, Louise Brown of McMinnville, TN; former wife and mother of his children, Patricia Yancy Steele (Fred O'Quinn); his fur baby, Sassy.
The family will hold a private committal service at the Cross Mausoleum of Woodlawn Memorial Park on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
