She was the daughter of the late Albert Englert Vaughn Sr. and Belva Anne James. She is also preceded in death by her younger brother, Albert E. Vaughn Jr.
She was a 1977 graduate of Bellevue High School, and she later studied at Nashville State Community College. She was an EEG technician who worked for over thirty-five years at Vanderbilt, St. Thomas, and Metro General Hospitals in Nashville, TN.
Carol is survived by her sons; Zachary (Rebecca) Vaughn of Bloomington, IN and Kyle (Charity) Clark of Franklin, KY; daughters, Courtney (Joseph) Wallace, and Zannah Clark of Springfield, TN; siblings Larry (Shirley) Vaughn of Jefferson City, TN; and Natalie (Gary) Vaughn Markey of Thompsons Station; nine grandchildren, Keaton and Alisa Young, Braxton Schickling, Emilee and Audrey Wallace, Emma and Auna Clark, William Wallace, and Gillian Vaughn; a faithful, loving extended family; and many friends.
She had a way with words and loved writing poetry, as well as raising everyone’s morale with a well-timed joke. She was also fond of sailing, camping, and road trips with friends and family.
Carol was an immensely strong and resilient individual who was dedicated to her family, friends, and others. While our family lost a courageous member with a wonderful sense of humor, we rest better knowing that she is embracing and laughing with her parents and younger brother once again.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3259 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN 37214 with Reverend Rick Roberts officiating.
To honor her memory and wish, the family has requested that attendees please wear bright colors as we celebrate her time with us here in this life.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials celebrating Carol’s passion for life and helping others may be made to St. John’s Outreach Ministry and Toys for Tots.
