Brenda Ann Brown Shaneyfelt, 79, of Nashville, passed away August 19, 2018. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-four years, Charles Ingram Shaneyfelt, and her parents Lois Rebecca Francis Armor, Etherd Franklin Armor, and her birth father and Lois’ first husband, Troy Corbett Brown, who died when she was a young child. Born in Big Rock, TN, in Stewart County, she was raised primarily in Columbia, TN, and attended Columbia Central High School and Columbia Business College. Brenda was a hairstylist and beautician for over fifty years, and she and her husband owned and operated the Charles Coiffures salon in Green Hills for many years, after which Brenda worked mainly from a salon at home. She loved to sing, and sang in the church choirs at Belle Meade United Methodist, Christ Presbyterian, and Covenant Presbyterian. Brenda was incredibly thoughtful, generous, and friendly, and gave thoroughly and completely of herself to so many others throughout her life. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Sheri Francis Shaneyfelt and Shannon Lee Shaneyfelt (Mark) Doyle, and her grandchildren, Henry, Louisa, and Charlie Doyle, to whom she was affectionately known as “BeBe.” The visitation and service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Scarritt Bennett Center, 1027 18th Avenue South, Nashville, TN, 37212. Visitation will start at eleven o’clock am at Bennett Hall with the service following at one o’clock pm at the adjacent Wightman Chapel. Graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN, 37204. Floral arrangements for the service must be delivered to Woodlawn by 5 pm on Friday, August 24.
