Survived by brother Horace William “Bill” Green (Debbie); sons James A. “Chip” Skinner, III (Lisa) of Greenwich, CT, W. Eric Skinner (Carol) of Nashville, and Robert C. Skinner (Becky) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren Erica Skinner, Emmie Skinner, Pierce Skinner, James Skinner, Sophie Skinner and Abigail Skinner.
Beverly was born and raised in Nashville. She is a graduate of West High School, Class of 1957, where she was voted Homecoming Queen and “Most Popular” by her classmates. She attended the University of Alabama. She was owner of Cutting Edge Resources, Inc., a computer equipment company that she founded and operated. Beverly was first and to the last a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid supporter of every activity in which her grandchildren participated and she relished every detail of their lives. The collection of family photos in her home was a testament to her love of family and the joy she shared with them.
Beverly will be remembered as the face of dignity and strength during adversity, including the illness that took her life. She will be remembered for her grace and generosity by all who called her friend.
The family expresses its gratitude to Cindy Gabbert and to Dr. Edwin Anderson for their loving care.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Road, the Reverend Dr. Sandra L. Randleman officiating.
Family visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 and an hour prior to the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, charitable gifts may be sent to American Cancer Society.
