She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Porterfield and siblings, Robert Morton, Margaret Nowlin and Wayne Morton.
Mrs. Porterfield is survived by her foster daughter, Kathy Birdsong (David), siblings, Frances Walker, Patsy Throneberry, Nancy Lovvorn and Wanda Csuy as well as several nieces and nephews.
Described as a vibrant individual, she was a devoted wife of Bill and was a member of Giles Creek Baptist Church. She always had an open home to anyone. She loved the outdoors, boating, water skiing, softball, basketball and golf. She worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years. She was competitive in all she did.
Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 27 beginning at 12:00 pm with a celebration of life service at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204.
