She is survived by her husband of 60 years James William “Bill” Denny, her brother, George Daniel Ralls Jr, 3 children Dr. Kevin Scott Denny (Jacque) of Huntsville, AL; Steven Kurt Denny (Eli), Jennifer Dawn Denny Evans (Bill) and 4 Grandchildren, Matthew Daniel Denny, Amy Nicole Denny, Daniel Denny Maloney and Samuel Kurt Maloney. Brother in law John Everett Denny (Pandora) sister in law Linda Gayle Denny and a niece Jill Suzette Ralls Lane (Joey) and her cousins whom she considered sisters, Joan Morrissey (Jimmy) and Clareese Ward. She is preceded in death by her sister in law, Carolyn Sue Yount Ralls and her nephew Jack Browndan Ralls.
June, a native of Nashville, attended Dan Mills Grammar School and Isaac Litton High School graduating in 1953. She was an employee of Bell South, American Airlines and American Express Travel.
She was a member for over 50 years of Brentwood United Methodist Church and the Wesley Forum Sunday School Class, The Altar Guild and many service and management committees within the church. She was an active member of The Cumberland Heights Friends. She also supported Brentwood Academy through various groups. She was a member of The Women’s Club of Nashville.
For over 30 years June enjoyed weekly participation in a loving group of friends dubbed “The Sewing Buddies”. Much time was spent on a weekly basis in fellowship with each other as they worked on projects, participated in philanthropies and shared life together.
June had many other life experiences including being a contestant in the MISS NASHVILLE contest and she was a professional Big Band singer with several of the Dance Bands in Nashville including being a featured singer with the Sewart Air Force Base band.
She enjoyed animals and had many hobbies including painting, sewing, gardening and she was a talented pianist. She loved to travel with her husband Bill and enjoyed visiting many places around the world. She had many friends in the Country Music industry and enjoyed attending the special events with Bill. June was a natural Southern cook and her homemade cornbread dressing, white cake with chocolate icing and wonderful chocolate pie were always sought after favorites. She dearly loved her family and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
The family would like to give special thanks to Caregivers Anita Andrews, Stephanie Lindley and the caring staff of the Health Center at Richland Place.
Visitation will be held Thursday March 1 from 4 o clock in the afternoon until 7 o clock pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Friday March 2 from 9:30 am until service time at 11:00 am at Brentwood United Methodist Church with Bishop Joe Pennel Jr officiating. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family and close friends will be pallbearers with The Wesley Forum Class serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
