Bettie Swann Warner, 84, wife of the late Robert Andrew Warner of New Haven CT, passed away while sleeping comfortably surrounded by family and friends on Friday, July 13, 2018 at her home in Nashville TN.
Born May 4, 1934 in Cross Plains, Tennessee, she attended East Robertson High School and Belmont College. She met her husband of 56 years while working at the Baptist Bookstore. She then worked at Bell South for more than 25 years, first as a telephone operator and finally as the Small Business Center Supervisor. After her retirement from the phone company, she worked as the Preschool Director at South End United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters Lynn Humphrey and husband Terry of Durham, NC and Shannon Shaffer and husband Matt of Murfreesboro; one grandson, Michael Humphrey of Durham. She is also survived by her brother Tommy Swann and wife Ruth of Cross Plains and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Bonnie Nixon, her brothers, Hayward, Robert Earl, SL, Ralph, Carl, and Bill Swann
Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at South End United Methodist Church.
