Betsy Williams Brackney Bibb went to be with the Lord September 28, 2021 at the age of 87. Trusting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young child, following Him over a lifetime, and pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus – Betsy has finished the race.
She was preceded in death by 1st husband, Cameron (Ronnie) Brackney, 2nd husband, Robert L. Bibb, daughter, Elizabeth Brackney King, father and mother, Richard D. and Betty Williams, brother, Richard Allen Williams.
Survived by son Bill Brackney (Carrie), sister Sarah Parrish (Larry), sister-in-law Lillian Williams, son-in-law James King, step-daughters Linda Miller (Don) and Leslee Bibb, step-son Rob Bibb, grandchildren Kathryn LaVire (Chad), Melissa Brink (Dalton), Cameron King, Charlotte Brackney, Megan Brackney, Ragon Miller, Nathan Bibb, great-grandchildren Madison, Wes, and Penelope LaVire, and Bella Brink.
Born and raised in Nashville, a graduate of Hillsboro HS and the Univ. of TN, Knoxville, she married and lived in S. Carolina before moving with her family to Tehran, Iran where husband, Ronnie, worked for 2 yrs with a textile company. 1965 saw their return to Nashville. Betsy was involved in several churches over the years including Christ Presbyterian Church. She was involved in other Christian endeavors including Child Evangelism Fellowship, support of many Christian ministries to the Jews, and several other charitable organizations. She loved tennis playing through her 85th year. She was an avid bridge player, loved world travel, and was a member of the Centennial Club in Nashville.
Visitation will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church (Old Hickory Blvd) at 10 AM on September 30, followed by a memorial service at noon. A graveside service will be held at Mt Olivet Cemetery (Lebanon Rd) for family and close friends at 2 PM on Sunday, October 3.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Child Evangelism Fellowship, Jews for Jesus, or to Christ Presbyterian Church.
