Bertha Marie Liddington

Liddington, Bertha Marie Eckert age 90 of Donelson Tn. passed away Feb. 5 at McKendree Village after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband the love of her life, Donald Clayton Liddington, her parents, Jesse & Kunie Eckert, sisters Florence Critchley and Josephine Lifson, and brothers Raymond and Leo. She is survived by her daughters Lynne Ann Liddington and Donna Carol Liddington Smith her son, Gary Lee Liddington, sister Gertrude Fogelberg, five grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Bertha happily followed Donald all over the world in his many duty stations with the US Air Force for 24 years, living in Japan, Scotland, Germany, and numerous US locations. She was an excellent seamstress and for years made many costumes worn by performers at Opryland USA. She was a very devout Catholic and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 59 years. Her kindness and generosity were felt and appreciated by everyone she met; and her love and devotion for our Lord and her family were the most important elements of her life. A funeral mass will be conducted 10 am Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Mark Hunt officiating Interment will be held at National Veterans Cemetery to follow at 12 pm. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home.
