Pauline “Polly” Goldtrap Jones was born on July 16, 1927; she left this life on October 17, 2016. Polly was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, George H. Jones. She is survived by her daughters Sue Perkins (Dave), Brenda Clark (Robert), Debbie Rieke (Louis) and Donna Bailey (Ryan). She is also survived by her brother George Goldtrap II (Peggy), 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A native Nashvillian, Polly grew up in North Nashville attending North High School (’45) and George Peabody College (’49). She taught high school briefly, but spent most of her career life working with her husband building a successful hardware business. She travelled extensively visiting Europe many times, also Africa, South and Central America and Asia. A faithful member for over 30 years each of the Bordeaux and the Crieve Hall Churches of Christ, she treasured the relationships with her church families and her involvement in church life. She will be remembered as someone who gave of herself every day, encouraging, taking care of or in service to others.
Polly was the daughter of George A. and Audry Goldtrap and sister to Sarah Nugent, Lillian Harper and Clara Odom. Visitation with the family will be at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home Friday, October 21st from four o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening. A memorial service will be held at Crieve Hall Church of Christ on Saturday, October 22nd at Ten thirty in the morning.
