Barbara Ann Hickerson

Barbara Ann Hickerson, age 81, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on December 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 23, 1943, in Nashville, Barbara was greeted in heaven by her son Ronnie Hickerson, her husband Marshel Hickerson, her mother Lucille Smith, and her father Joe Bradshaw.

Barbara was a devoted mother and cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her son, David (Diana) Hickerson; her daughter-in-law, Katrina Hickerson; grandchildren Crystal Hickerson, Heather (Shane) Elder, Jason Hickerson, TC McDowell, Sara (Michael) Keller, and JT (Tabitha) Hickerson; as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Alexis, Emma, William, Jazmin, Adien, Savannah, Elijah, Hunter, Lincoln, Olivia, Meccah, Gabriel, and Willow; along with her beloved four legged companion, Mavis.

Barbara’s life was defined by her deep love for family. She took great pride in hosting gatherings, and along with her husband Marshel, they dedicated an entire room in their home to family holiday gatherings. Her passion for bringing family together was matched only by her love for her work with Avon, where she spent many years as a dedicated Avon Lady. Barbara and Marshel also shared a love for travel, particularly enjoying cruises and beach vacations together.

Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her kind and loving spirit, and her lifelong commitment to making others feel welcome and loved.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, December 13, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. A Celebration of Life service will follow on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM, with interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
