Arlene Marie Moore

The only child of John and Angela Garavaglia Arlene was born in Detroit Michigan. She met her husband of 51 years at Denby High School. The two were married on April 19th 1968 in Detroit.

After starting a family Arlene and her husband Bob moved to Nashville Tennessee in January 1982 with the opening of the Nissan Plant in smyrna Tennessee, where Bob worked for 20 years as lead engineer and systems analyst.

During this time Arlene began a career in the food service industry first serving at Nissan and later at a local mom and pop Italian restaurant. Arlene retired from this long service in 2009 after her husband Bob suffered a major stroke. From 2009 until her death Arlene served faithfully and tirelessly as caretaker for her husband during his long recovery process.

In 2004 Arlene was diagnosed with breast cancer from which she she made full recovery for nine and a half years before the cancer returned in 2013. She continued to fight valiantly through the cancer until her death.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 51 years Bob Moore, her two Children Jennifer Carpenter (Moore) and Scott Moore, and her three grandchildren Andrew Carpenter, Jack Carpenter, and Nathan Moore, and numerous family members and countless friends.

Funeral arrangements will be a private viewing followed by Cremation at Hibbett and Hailey funeral home. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers for donations be made to either the American Cancer Society or The Alive Hospice Foundation in her name.
