Alton Timothy Dial

Alton Timothy “Tim” Dial, age 81, passed away on March 16, 2025. He was born in Atlanta Georgia on April 20, 1943, to Alton Edward Dial and Helen Louise Morris Dial. Tim is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Dial. He is survived by his wife Nancy Harris Dial and his brothers, Howard Dial, Wesley Dial and Jeff Dial.

Tim was a graduate of Carson Newman University and also received his master’s degree at Georgia State University. He was a teacher for over 30 years and taught in Franklin, Tennessee and Maine. He served in the Peace Corps from 1965-1967 with his wife Nancy in Turkey. He loved to travel to Europe and to Destin Florida with Nancy. Tim went on 22 mission trips to various Spanish speaking countries and also to Haiti. He had a great love and knowledge for history and would talk and answer any questions anyone had on the subject.

Graveside service will be on Monday March 24, 2025, at 1 PM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
