Alliene Grant Lipsey passed away on August 5, 2016. She was raised in Winchester, Tennessee, and was a long-time resident of Nashville. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Oscar Grant and Mary Ellen Reneger Grant; her husband, Wesley Lipsey; her sons, "Little Wes" and "Little Danny" Lipsey; her brothers, Walter "Jack", Erol, S.J., Elbert, Oscar, and Raymond; her sisters, Florence Elon Grant and Margaret Miranda Grant Scoville; and her nephew, Hubert Oscar Grant II. Alliene is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lipsey Maxwell; and only remaining sibling, her brother Everett Grant. She will always be "Mimi" to her only grand-child, Abby (Jason) Dodson; and great-grand-daughters, Hannah Paige and Norah June. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Billy Scoville (Janis), Peggy Bonnington (Stuart), Marsha Grant, Bonnie Shadow (Fred), Tommy Grant (Kay); and brothers-in-law, "Mac" Lipsey and "Buddy" Lipsey. She was a long time member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church. She worked as the receptionist at Bellevue Florist for over 20 years. Alliene enjoyed spending time bowling and bowled in women's leagues and with Wes and Debbie over the years. She was an avid collector of Beenie Babies and all things miniature. She was "a cat person" and rescued many during her lifetime. She loved music and could play the piano by ear, sometimes after just hearing a new tune on the radio! She was always known as a prankster and kept her sense of joy and humor with her until her final days. Her family wants to sincerely thank the staff of The Lodge at Natchez Trace. Alliene loved them dearly and they cared deeply for her and treated her like a family member over the past years. When the final weeks came, Caris Hospice was such a blessing. They made sure her final days were peaceful and pain free. In lieu of flowers, please make doantions to Caris Hospice in Alliene's memory. Graveside service to take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at one o'clock in the afternoon.
