Adrian Merle Pewett

to be with her Lord and Savior on

September 15, 2014. Mrs. Pewett was born

on November 19, 1923, in Rogersville, AL,

daughter of the late Aamon Pierce and

Mason Lindsey Pierce .

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58

years, Houston Lee Pewett, Sr.; brothers,

Leverne and Frank Pierce.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty (Ervon)

Carroll, Cathy (Stanley) Myatt and Julia (Larry)

Blaker; son, Houston Lee (Farrah) Pewett, Jr.;

sister, Rebecca Frost; sisters-in-laws, Anne

and Nancy Pierce; grandchildren, Charlotte (Jim)

Harkness, Raymond (Heather) Carroll, Kendrick

(Dawn) Myatt, Lori (Gary) Martin, Stacie (Gordon)

Distin; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces

and nephews.

Mrs. Pewett devoted many years of service to

the Gulf Coast Church of Christ as a Bible

class teacher, Counselor and served alongside

her husband with his duties as an Elder of the

Church. Welcoming many friends and visiting

preachers into their home, was a service they

both enjoyed. Merle also worked with her

husband in the family business of Middle TN

Roofing Co. in Nashville, TN and later as a

partner in their Real Estate Business in Fort

Myers, FL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at

one o’clock in the afternoon, Friday, September 19,

2014 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Pastor Randy

Simmons officiating. Interment will follow from

Woodlawn Memorial Park.

A Gathering of friends will be held from four

o’clock in the afternoon until seven, Thursday,

September 18, 2014 at Woodlawn Memorial

Park and for one hour prior to service time.
