Robert E. “Bob” Hale, 79, of Nashville & Holmes Beach, FL., passed away January 12, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born in Princeton, IN. September 27, 1931 to Allen & Nellie (Cravens) Hale. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Major in 1971 & was a former sanitarian of Brown County Health Dept. from 1975-1995.He was a member of Nashville Masonic Lodge & VFW. Bob formerly served as chairman of Brown County Democratic Party, & treasurer of Brown County School Board. He was a former commissioner of Brown County Little League Baseball & was instrumental in forming the Little League fields. He was especially proud of his family, & enjoyed golf & Nascar.
Survivors include his daughter & son in law, Brenda & Rick Kelley, Nashville, son, Bob Hale, Crown Point, IN., granddaughter & grandson in law, Jennifer & Scott Plumlee & granddaughter, Elizabeth Kelley, great granddaughter, Grace Plumlee, brother & sister in law, Jim & Barbara Hale, FL., sister & brother in law, Linda & Mike McKinney, St. Cloud, FL., brother in law, Jim Owens, & sister in law, Kay Dowell, both of Nashville, & numerous nephews & nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wilma Dowell Hale, & an infant daughter, Deborah Hale.
A funeral service will be held at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, Monday, January 17 at 11:00 A.M., burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive visitors Sunday, January 16, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
