Ival “Max” Skinner, 85, of White Springs, Florida and formerly of Brown County, Indiana, passed away July 22, 2015 in Lake City, Florida. He was born in Brown County, Indiana December 16, 1929 the son of the late Icel Ray and Bertha Jane (Bay) Skinner.
Max was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Army. He retired from the Bradenton, Florida police department as the chief of police. Max was a member of the First Baptist Church of White Springs.
Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Barbara (Bowden) Skinner, White Springs, FL, son, Steven Ray Skinner, Myakka City, FL, grandson, Joshua Burkett, great grandsons, Robert Evan Simington and Cayden Blankenship. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred, Bill, Louie, and infant brother, Morris Skinner, sister, Rosie Smith, and grandson, Waylon Ray Skinner.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Cemetery with John Hundley officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 noon-2:00 P.M.
