Frederick R. Skinner, 88, of Columbus passed away Friday February 4, 2011 at Hospice of Southern Indiana in Columbus, Indiana. He was born on March 8, 1922 to the late Icel Ray and Bertha Jane (Bay) Skinner in Douglas County, Illinois.
He was a mechanic for over 50 years at McDonald's, Wilson Olds in Columbus. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville. He liked to fish and play cards. He was a NASCAR Fan as well as a Colts and Pacers fan. He was also a Hugh John Wayne fan.
He is survived by 3 Daughters and husbands: Pamela Sue Hynes of Columbus, Sandra Sue & Larry Spencer of North Vernon and Carla Sue & Mike Sarver of Columbus, 4 sons and their wives: Martin R. and Donita Skinner of Columbus, Donald M & Clara Skinner of Columbus, Albert R & Lou Skinner of Nashville and Phillip M. & Shelia Skinner of West Port, Indiana. A brother and his wife: Icel Max & Barb Skinner of White Springs, Florida, 22 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great, Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon in 2000, 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.
Friends may call at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville from 4 to 8 PM Monday, February 7, and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Church. The service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville with Fr. Eric Johnson officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Nashville.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
