Barbara Jean Wagers, age 70, of Nashville, died Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2017 at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born October 29, 1946 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Lloyd N. and Genevieve (Hemphill) Snider.
Barbara graduated from Brown County High School in 1964. In 1971 she graduated from IVY Tech with her nursing degree. She was employed as a L.P.N. at Brown County Health and Living Community and the Morgantown Nursing Home before beginning a 17 year career at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital where she worked in obstetrics and the nursery before her retirement.
She married Forest Wagers in 1968. Together they had their daughter, Julie, in 1972. In addition to her daughter, Julie (Wagers) Nichols, of Bloomington, Barbara is survived by her granddaughter, Adara Noel Nichols and four siblings; Norman (Wanda) Snider, Steven (Lois) Snider, Judy (Gary) Swift-Powdrill and Robert Colvin.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Darrell Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Needmore Cemetery in Brown County. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
