Born in Elassona, Greece, she immigrated to the United States with her husband in 1946 and located in Nashua, where they made their home and raised their family. She was actively involved in numerous organizations of the Greek Orthodox Church and community in Nashua throughout her 71 years as a parishioner. She was the consummate wife, mother, daughter and sister who was always kind and supportive to everyone. She was an extraordinary cook and hostess whose home and table was always full at a moment’s notice. Her world was her family, her many friends; the church and her charity work; her husband and her children to whom she gave everything humanely possible. She will be dearly missed by all of us, and anyone who had the good fortune to have been touched by her beautiful soul.
Bessie is survived by her four sons Dr. William Tsiaras and his wife Nancy of Barrington, RI, Christos Tsiaras and his wife Barbara of Bedford, NH., Philip Tsiaras of New York City and Alexander Tsiaras and his wife Susan of Brooklyn NY. Bessie was the grandmother of five and the great grandmother of seven. She is also survived by a brother George Batzoyianni of Elassona Greece, a sister Evdoxia Liakos of Nashua, a sister Mary Palantzas of Elassona Greece and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs Tsiaras’ funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at St. Philips Greek Orthodox Church in Nashua. The family wishes to welcome all friends and relatives to join them for visitation at the church from 9:30AM-10:30AM with the service beginning at 10:30. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. A luncheon will take place at the Nashua Country Club, 25 Fairway St. Nashua at 12:30PM. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the nurse’s station at the Hunt Community in Nashua.
