Ruth E. Dube Forget passed away suddenly from a cardiac event on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. She was born on June 25, 1933 in Salem, Mass, the daughter of Albert and Irene (Trembley) Godin, one of 7 children.
Ruth attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and Boston Trade School for Girls. She married her beloved Marcel Dube in 1955 and welcomed 5 children into the world. While busy raising her family, she also taught night school sewing classes at Essex Agricultural School in Davers, MA. She later furthered her education at Framingham State, obtained her teaching degree, and taught the sewing program at the North Shore Trade School in Beverly MA. Upon retirement, she moved to North Hollywood CA and fulfilled her dream of dancing. She appeared as a dancing extra in the Addam’s Family films and Out to Sea. She had a remarkable talent for the Argentinian Tango, dancing impressively on both East and West coasts as well as in Buenos Aires. She loved traveling, visiting France, England, Germany, Argentina, and Italy.
Ruth instilled a proud, rich French and Native American heritage to her children. She excelled in her role as family seamstress, making her children’s amazing outfits and family wedding gowns throughout the years. She was so loving, friendly and had a great sense of humor. Family was of utmost importance to Ruth, beautifully knitting for new grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Knitting incredible socks was a hobby that kept her fingers busy right up to the end.
Ruth is predeceased by her parents and siblings Paul Godin, Lucille (Sue) Brown, Betty Chase, Orrin Godin, and Jean Hughes and spouses. Nephews Paul Brown and Walter Chase as well as niece Laurelle Maldonado. Her granddaughters Adrielle Warwick and Katharine Dube. Husbands Marcel Dube and William Forget.
She is survived by her children Alicia R. Warwick of Bristol NH, Denise L. Driscoll of Fremont NH, David M. Dube (Shannon) of Lynn MA, Gene P. Dube of Cross SC, and Edward A. Dube of Plaistow NH as well as her step-daughters Lorna and Leslie Forget. Grandchildren Merek Weisensee (Jen), Amanda Drake (David), Rachael Dube (El), Liam Driscoll (Amanda), Ian Dube (Niki), AJ Dube, Meredith Kendall (Curtis), Emily Dube, Madison Dube, Erica Dube and Theresa Dube. 17 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Ruth also leaves behind her best friend and beloved younger sister Cynthia Bouchard, nieces, nephews and many friends.
