Russell D. Johnson, 83, of Nashua, NH passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare Nursing Home, Nashua. He was born on June 4, 1928 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Charles and Isadora Johnson. Mr. Johnson was raised in Chicago and loved the area. He was a “great outdoorsman”, enjoying fishing and hunting and nature. Mr. Johnson had been a member of the Nashua Fish and Game Club, the Lone Pine Hunters Club and the Rod and Gun Club of Hudson, MA. He had also lived in Sudbury, MA for two years with his former wife Ann M. Johnson. Mr. Johnson worked as the General Manager for Crown Linen Service and later in maintenance for M.M.G. in Nashua.
He is survived by his four children; Donna Johnson of Sudbury, MA, Lauren Arruda and her husband Gary of Brookline, NH, David Johnson of Brookline and Lynne Johnson of Marlborough, MA and by his eight grandchildren; Valeria and Jessica Arruda and Christina, Amanda, Sandra, Gail, Justin and Mikey Johnson. He was predeceased by his brother; Robert Johnson who died while fighting in WWII.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 4:00 – 7:00p.m. in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury, MA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Honor Flight, Inc., Attn: Diane Gresse, 300 E. Auburn Ave., Springfield, OH 45505 which will help transport veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit THEIR memorials.
