Richard J. Lamerand

Richard J. Lamerand, 90, a native of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones on August 17, 2023, following a period of declining health. Born in Nashua on November 27, 1932, he was the son of the late Jeanne Lamirande of Nashua.

Richard grew up in Nashua and was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with degrees in History and French Literature. While attending Boston University and Rivier College as an academic scholar, Richard taught history for years at Appleton Academy in New Ipswich, NH. It was there where he met the love of his life, Judith (Salo) Lamerand. In July of this year, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Richard served in the U.S Army reserves retiring with a rank of Captain. He was pleased to serve his City of Nashua as Alderman of Ward 4 in the early 70's. After leaving teaching, Richard continued his working career building the family real estate business in Nashua. Richard was an avid reader throughout his life and fell in love with travel. After his retirement, Richard and Judith had the chance to travel and see many of the world's beautiful sights together.

Richard will be remembered and loved by his wife Judith (Salo) Lamerand of Nashua; two sons, Kyle Lamerand and his wife Jennifer of Nashua, Craig Lamerand and his wife Rose of Nashua; grandson Colin Lamerand of Freemont, NH; as well as special loved ones, Becky Dale of Plymouth, NH and Marcia Vallier of Wilton, NH. He is predeceased by his Mother Jeanne Lamirande.
