Nicholas "Nick" J. Proulx

Nicholas “Nick” J. Proulx, 33, of Nashua, NH passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston following a battle with cancer. He was born May 4, 1980 in Lowell, MA, a son of Frederick Proulx and Colleen McDermott.

Nick grew up in Nashua. He had a great love for music, long rides in his car, being out in the fresh air and a good steak. He especially loved hanging out with his brother, Shawn. He often spoke of how lucky and fortunate he was to have loving friends and family to help him get through the tough times.

He is survived by his father; Frederick “Rick” Proulx of Nashua, his mother; Colleen McDermott of Pelham, NH, his step-mother; Joanne St.Onge of Nashua, a grandmother; Yvette Smith of Dracut, MA, his brother; Shawn Proulx of Merrimack, NH and a brother/cousin; Justin Zerba of Hudson, NH. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles; Johnny Christian of Hudson, Steven Proulx of Florida, Bob Marshall of Nashua and Roger Roy and James McDermott, both of Lowell, his aunts; Karen Proulx of Florida, Susan Marshall of Nashua, Amanda Hulse of Hudson, Sheila McDermott of Tyngsboro, MA and Kathy McDermott of Merrimack, his cousins; Stevie, Charlie, Derric Proulx, Chris Avila, Johnny Duquette, Skip, Jody and Brian Roy, Chris and Ryan Shanahan, Chuck, Scott, Doug and Kevin Harrington, Donald, Donna, Billy and Ellen Prim, Michelle McDermott, Patty Fissitte, Pam Mede, Kelly Smith and step siblings Kathryn and Michael Nelson and by a best friend; Kyle Polanski and many other great friends throughout MA and NH.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm followed by a funeral service at 5:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua, NH. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
